Jaguar Releases C-X16 Concept
Stunning Jaguar C-X16 Details Released Ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show
A number of manufacturers have released details of concept vehicles ahead of next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, but we feel there are none more exciting than the sensational C-X16 2 seater hybrid sports concept from Jaguar.
Due to be presented on Tuesday September 13th during the Jaguar Land Rover press conference at the Frankfurt motor show this truly beautiful vehicle may not seem exceptionally small at 4,445mm long, but it’s the smallest car Jaguar has created since the XK120 back in 1954!
Beneath the muscular bonnet lurks a next generation supercharged V6 petrol engine capable of 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds and 50-75mph acceleration in 2.1 seconds. The engine produces 380 PS and 332lb ft. of torque. The performance of this astounding vehicle is supplemented by a formula 1 inspired hybrid boost system via a button mounted on the steering wheel for on-demand acceleration.
The CX-16 is able to travel at speeds of up to 50mph on battery power alone and has a lightweight aluminium chassis and perfect 50:50 weight distribution. This truly is a remarkable vehicle, one which sees Jaguar entering a new chapter, and one which Caffyns is very excited about!
Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars: “The C-X16 embodies the established Jaguar strengths of sensual design, animal-like agility and inspirational performance and combines these with attributes that set us on a course to create sustainable sports cars of the future.”
Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar Cars: “Jaguars have always been dramatically different. With the C-X16 we have moved the current award-winning design language on to the next generation, creating a car that is the very essence of future Jaguar performance.”
